Finished recent rebuild and got everything back together. Noticed in my consult that my neutral switch isn't functioning. Car is a factory manual. I know the automatics adjust timing depending on whether or not it shows in gear. My question is does the switch on the manual affect the timing maps in the same way? I feel like I've lost a good bit of torque from 2k-4.5k. Full boost doesn't hit till around 5k. No pinging and ecu reads code 55 all clear. If answer to switch is it doesn't affect timing at all my next suspicion would be the vtc gears are getting stuck... ideas? Car sat for a few years before the rebuild. All injectors ohmed at 13 dead even so I'm almost certain they are all still good. Compression is within 6psi spread median being 152. Fuel pressure good as well. Plugs could stand to be changed but all cylinders still fire (no miss) also between 3k to 5k I sound like a subaru... I dont get it. Light gray smoke on idle after warm up. Zero oil in plenum and intake tract.
